Congratulations to our fantastic contract vehicle technician, Sam, who was recognised as Autotech Recruit’s Star Contractor of the Month for June 2018!
Sam, who has been working with us since the beginning of 2017, has impressed us from day one. His professional attitude and hard work are highly regarded by our clients and consultants. He recently completed his training at Henry Ford Academy and is set to be an excellent addition to the team of Autotech Recruit’s Fly-In Ford Technicians.

We asked Sam to share a few thoughts about being a vehicle technician and working with Autotech Recruit…
What made you become a technician?
Like most technicians I have met in my career, I am a visual learner and as a schoolboy I felt let down by the current education system. For this reason, I left school and attained an apprenticeship with BMW.
What is your favourite make of car and why?
Although my career has branched from my days at BMW, the ethos of the brand is something that will be forever embedded in my work ethics.
What is the best car you have ever got to fix?
As BMW now owns Rolls Royce and the electronic systems in the vehicles are the same, I had the privilege of working on a customers Ghost. As staggeringly expensive and rare as these vehicles are, it is humbling to see them in a workshop environment because you can see them for what they really are, cars!
What is the best thing about being a technician?
The best part of being a technician is being able to help your friends and family with their car problems and to save them some money. It is always good to know someone in the trade.
If you weren’t a technician, what would you be?
I have always had a passion for clean energy, and I have recently graduated from studying HNC engineering systems with renewable energy. This experience has boosted my confidence and knowledge, in and out of the automotive industry and I would encourage everyone to never stop learning.
What 3 words sum up your work with Autotech Recruit?
Freedom, passion and opportunity.
What is your perfect Sunday?
My perfect Sunday would be spent with my girlfriend and a few of our friends eating food and drinking beer.
