Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Service Technician to join our client's experienced team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various technical tasks, including equipment repair and assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately and skilfully undertaking the repair and servicing of motor vehicles, ensuring that every job meets the required standards, including the completion of any administrative processes.
  • Ensuring that all repair work is completed to the highest standard and within factory timescales.
  • Evaluating the condition of every vehicle worked on and, where necessary, reporting and documenting all additional work required on both systems and job cards.
  • Where applicable, fully explain to customers what is required for a technical repair using language that the customer fully understands.
  • Liaising with other departments to facilitate the timely and accurate servicing and repair of vehicles.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an accredited/qualified Vehicle Technician, level 3 IMI light vehicle maintenance or City and Guilds equivalent.
  • An enthusiastic and optimistic manner, taking responsibility for your actions and decisions.
  • An organised and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Clear communicator when advising customers on technical issues.


Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar Vehicle Service Technician role with a strong emphasis on mechanical knowledge.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualified.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret diagnostics for assembly and repair tasks.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, diagnostics and other relevant equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers alike.
