Autotech Recruit has been recognised by Motor Trader as the Recruitment Agency of the Year 2020, in an online event which marked the 30th anniversary of the coveted Motor Trader Industry Awards.

Winning the Recruitment Agency of the Year award in Motor Trader’s prestigious awards, which recognise all that is best in modern motor retailing, holds particular significance for Autotech Recruit, as the company celebrates its 10 year milestone birthday in December.

Launched in 2010 to fill a gap in the automotive aftermarket for temporary vehicle technicians and MOT testers, Autotech Recruit’s unwavering commitment to the motor trade has led to considerable growth and success.

In the intervening decade, Autotech Recruit has educated the industry on the advantages of using contractors to counteract gaps in labour, highlighting the lost revenue opportunities, and creating customised solutions to meet resource needs head on. Today, the company is THE automotive aftermarket’s leading provider of recruitment and training solutions, working with over 80% of Motor Trader’s Top 200 dealers.

Significantly, under the company’s Manufacturer Led Programme (MLP), launched specifically for franchised dealerships of leading UK car manufacturers, Autotech Recruit have filled over 95,000 hours to date with MLP trained contractors. As a result of filling otherwise empty bays, MLP has generated approximately £11 million in additional revenue for dealerships.

“As a recruitment agency solely dedicated to the automotive industry, we are delighted to be recognised in the Motor Trader Industry Awards. Winning the Recruitment Agency of the Year award has been a long term ambition of the company and we see this as a great achievement,” comments Gavin White, CEO of The Autotech Group. “This award not only acknowledges the culmination of our commitment to creating solutions for the industry, but recognises the determination of our team, and the highly skilled contractors who are filling positions in garages across the UK on a daily basis.”

It also reflects our commitment to the industry, helping to plug the skills gap, while providing essential training and direction to ensure both our contractors and clients alike have the necessary skills to equip them in the ever changing landscape of the motor trade.”

The judging panel of the Motor Trader Industry Awards noted the valuable service provided by Autotech Recruit in supplying temporary vehicle technicians and MOT testers for short and mid-term placements. It also noted the growing proportion of longer-term contracts, an indication of the quality of the contractors.

The panel commented favourably on the ongoing training of Autotech Recruit’s contractors and the positive partnerships the company had with carmakers. The judges also mentioned the scale of the network with 450 technicians and MOT testers, and the robust screening process.

“Autotech Recruit fills an essential gap in the market. This is a company doing a good job,” the panel commented.

Now in its 30th year, the Motor Trader Industry Awards pay tribute to companies and individuals who are able to demonstrate excellence in their field, exceptional customer service, and innovation.

The Motor Trader award also marks a year of accolades for Autotech Recruit. After being shortlisted for two 2020 Recruiter Awards: Best Temporary Recruitment Agency and Recruitment Agency Of The Year (Small) the company was highly commended within the temporary category in September. And, just last month, Professional Motor Mechanic magazine recognised Autotech Recruit in its annual awards for the company’s investment in free online training for its contractors through an exclusive platform on Our Virtual Academy.
