Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Vehicle Technician to join our client's experienced team at a VAG specialist workshop (Audi, VW, Skoda). The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various technical tasks, including diagnostics, equipment repair, and assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service. The Senior Technician will play a vital role in maintaining vehicle performance and ensuring smooth operations.

This is a Monday to Friday role (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM) with no weekend work. The workshop is fully heated, providing a comfortable year-round working environment. In addition to a competitive base salary, there is a bonus scheme likely to add an additional £10,000–£15,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various types of diagnostic and mechanical equipment.
• Perform vehicle repairs using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic systems.
• Assemble components according to schematics and technical documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Assist in training junior technicians and sharing best practices.
• Execute heavy lifting tasks as required during maintenance or installation.
• Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, schedules, and parts inventory.

Experience & Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar Senior Technician role with strong mechanical and diagnostic knowledge.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Proficient in interpreting diagnostics and technical diagrams.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and relevant automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
