WHAT IS AWE24?

AWE24 is one-week of work experience designed specifically for automotive. It runs from 15th – 19th April. We are asking every employer in automotive to offer one week’s placement for at least one young person during this time. We know that not every young person will be able to attend this week, or employers may not be able to provide a placement at that time, so it’s important that we keep work experience visible throughout the year.

PUPIL

Whether you're intrigued by electric cars, fascinated by workshops, or curious about the business side of things, AWE24 brings a variety of options. Explore various roles and companies located across the country on the Institute of the motor industry (IMI) portal. Not sure what to expect? Don't worry, you’ll find guidance here too. There’s also information for your parents/carers and your school so they can support you to get the most out of your work experience.

ORGANISER

Are you on the lookout for meaningful work placements for your students? Look no further than the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Work Experience Portal. Here, you'll discover opportunities directly provided by automotive companies themselves. In collaboration with IMI, School of Thought, and Autotech Group, we've created a platform that not only connects young talent with industry placements but also offers comprehensive guidance from an organiser's perspective.

PARENTS/CARERS

Are you eager to support your child's passion for automotive? Or want them to discover the many opportunities this exciting industry has to offer? Look no further than AWE24, powered by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), School of Thought, and Autotech Group. Our collaborative platform is designed to help young enthusiasts or those that are not sure what they’d like to do, secure valuable work placements, with the full backing of their school. Through the IMI Work Experience Portal, you'll find a wide array of placements directly offered by reputable companies. Plus, we provide guidance for parents/carers and organisers to help you support your child throughout the experience.
