The company’s Autotech Recruit division was the foundation on which Autotech Group was built upon back in 2010. Today, this division operates the UK’s largest network of temporary vehicle technicians and MOT testers, along with service and parts advisors, plugging the industry’s resource gap. Last year alone, Autotech Recruit contractors filled over 350,000 hours for the automotive aftermarket and carried out 150,000 MOTs.

Forging strong links with industry leaders and key automotive organisations, Autotech Group actively supports the future growth of the UK’s automotive industry, and today we are the industry’s leading provider of recruitment and training solutions.

This dedication has led to the creation of new divisions alongside our original recruitment business – Autotech Training, Autotech Academy and Autotech Connect – and each directly responds to the evolution of vehicles and the challenges brought on by the automotive skills shortage.

It was this unwavering commitment to going above and beyond for the automotive industry which impressed the judges, alongside Autotech Group’s ability to remain innovative and repeatedly break down barriers within a sector beset by a depleting pool of talent. From spearheading initiatives to harness a new generation of vehicle technicians and upskill existing workforces, to integrating technology into its processes to support the recruitment drives of automotive employers across the country.

Now in their 11th year, the prestigious Recruiter Awards are the UK’s largest event for the entire recruitment community recognising the outstanding achievements of agencies and in-house recruiters.

During this year’s event, which was held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London, Autotech Group beat 11 other finalists in the category to pick up the coveted Recruitment Agency of the Year – Small award. The company were also finalists within the ‘Best Temporary Recruitment Agency’ category.

“We were delighted to be recognised at the Recruiter Awards,” comments Simon King, Interim CEO of Autotech Group. “As an organisation dedicated to the automotive industry, winning the ‘Recruitment Agency of the Year’ award within the small (20-49 employees) category, against recruitment specialists from across all sectors and industries, is a momentous achievement.

“This award recognises the determination of our team, and our network of highly skilled candidates who are filling resource gaps in garages and dealer workshops across the UK on a daily basis. It also reflects our commitment to the automotive industry, helping to plug the skills gap, while providing essential training and opportunities for newly qualified vehicle technicians to ensure the industry has a richer pool of talent to sustain it well into the future.”

The judges of the Recruiter Awards commented: “To decide our winner, we were looking for an organisation who not only had a strong growth story and demonstrated a focus on looking after their employees but also had a clear and deep connection to their market. We wanted to see evidence of going above and beyond, in terms of supporting the sector through innovative thinking, developing future talent pools as well as working with those in the sector already, and using technology to support their objectives.

Our winner stood out in all these respects. Autotech Group is a well-established organisation which extensively contributes to its sector through involvement with trade bodies, seminars and broader engagement beyond simply providing services. It has clearly understood the long-term need for well-qualified staff in a market and were impressed by the company’s development of an Academy and other initiatives to bring new entrants into the sector and upskill those already in it. We also felt that the willingness to bring innovative business models into the automotive market was impressive and we congratulate them on a well-deserved win.”
