We are delighted to announce that our Star Contractor of the Month for October is Tim.
Tim is very hard-working, professional, and, quite simply, a very nice guy who has worked tirelessly for the past few months. He has built a great reputation with Autotech Recruit's clients - he always receives great feedback and is often requested back by name. It's not unusual for Tim's one-week booking to roll into 2-3 month placement.
We called Tim to share the news about his accolade and to ask him a few questions about his life as a contract vehicle technician. Here's what he told us...
What made you become a technician?
I was given a car at the age of 15, my Grandfather's MK1 Escort, and I set about keeping it on the road to save money. Then I started working in a Nissan dealer and have been a vehicle technician ever since.
What is your favourite make of car and why?
I prefer Volkswagen vans – I can chuck a tent and bikes in the back!
What is the best car you have ever got to fix?
Classic Porsche 911.
If you weren’t a technician, what would you be?
A central heating fitter as they earn decent money. I can’t stand working in an office environment and prefer to get my hands dirty.
What 3 words sum up your work with Autotech Recruit?
Freedom, versatility, and variation.
What is your perfect Sunday?
On holiday, camping with the family.
