Gavin White, CEO of Autotech Group, has been recognised by the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) with the Chief Executive’s Round and Black Award.
The coveted award, sponsored this year by Goodyear UK, recognises individual altruism in relation to safety, raising standards and improving the trade for others. It was presented to Gavin during the 93rd annual NTDA dinner, held last week at the VOX Conference Centre, Resorts World, Birmingham.
In front of over 600 guests, Gavin took to the stage to receive the award from Stefan Hay, Chief Executive of the NTDA, who acknowledged Gavin’s commitment and drive to be at the forefront of change within the automotive industry.
Specifically noting Autotech Group’s Talent Recharge event, held earlier this year to kickstart the skills conversation and tear off the precarious sticking plaster which has been holding the industry together for so long, Stefan paid tribute to the mark Gavin is making on the industry.
“Autotech Group altruistically invested tens of thousands of pounds to run the major free skills event - Talent Recharge. This event, which saw over 200 senior leaders from OEMs, dealer groups, independents, and the tyre, paint and body sectors unite alongside industry organisations and representatives from the education sector, is a testament to the innovation, selflessness and passion Gavin displays daily towards the trade is second to none.
He is now recognised as an NTDA Skills Ambassador and is at the forefront of the changes our industry is making and needs to make, to gain, train and retain talent if it is to survive and thrive in the future. I can’t think of a worthier winner of the Round and Black Award.”
