We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Fitter to join our well established client. They operate a mixed fleet of 130 owned vehicles from vans to 44 tonne articulated combinations, and a mixed fleet of over 100 trailers. The role of the Workshop Fitter is to ensure the fleet is always maintained and roadworthy through planned preventative maintenance. To respond to emergency breakdown situations in a safe and organised manner.
Responsibilities and duties:
Inspection, maintenance and repair of LGV and trailer fleet to DVSA Standards
Completion of all related paperwork either manually or on digital tablet
Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT
Conduct routine servicing, safety checks and fault finding on all vehicles
Carry out ad-hoc repairs as and when required
Ensure Health and Safety and all Company Procedures are adhered to.
Participation in out of hours on call rota
Knowledge/experience/qualifications required for this role:
Previous experience of working in an LGV workshop environment
Experience of repair and maintenance of LGV's and trailers
Experience of maintaining and repairing various vehicle types (vans / 7.5t, 18t, 26 t and articulated vehicles)
Knowledge and experience of repairing and maintaining various vehicle manufacturers (MAN, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, DAF, Iveco)
Knowledge of operating legislation concerning LGV's
LGV C+E Licence preferred but not essential
Experience of using diagnostic equipment (Texa) would be advantageous
