We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join our client's experienced team based in Birmingham.

The hours of work are 08:30am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday as well as working Saturdays on a rota basis.

Excellent basic salary with OTE up to £35,000-£45,000

Role and Responsibilities

  • Technicians are responsible for the servicing, repair and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
  • MOT Tester and working within DVSA framework.
  • Additional responsibilities may include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles such as the use of electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on areas such as batteries, drive motor, auxiliary drive pack & control systems.
  • Ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • Full understanding of Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
  • You will be trained and able to operate additional systems, such as video reporting.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, within required timescales and in accordance with established and documented procedures and standards from both the Company and Ministry of Transport.
  • Working closely with other members of the workshop team to constantly learn and share knowledge.

 
About you

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Must have a valid class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence with DVSA and have an up-to-date annual training record and passed the assessment.
  • Experience of meeting compliance standards across Health and Safety and quality
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Previous experience essential.
