Technical Specialist - West Sussex - ATR_26819

Autotech Recruit are looking for a senior commercial vehicle technician/engineer with a wealth of experience to join our client in a varied and exciting role as Technical Specialist at their Crawley site.

Our client are the helping hand that private and public sector minibus and minibus purchasers need, and they provide a true end-to-end solution for procuring bespoke passenger vehicles.

As the Technical Specialist, you will be the company's technical expert on minibus, bus and coach vehicles, including Electric Vehicles.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

•Ensuring technical excellence and providing expert guidance in supporting thousands of vehicles across the UK
•Serve as the lead liaison with the suppliers
•Collaborating closely with suppliers to maintain and enhance vehicle performance and quality
•Lead technical training sessions and workshops for internal teams
•Oversee and contribute to the development of technical documentation, service manuals and troubleshooting guides for all vehicles
•Work closely with the Aftersales, Sales, and procurement teams to resolve complex technical issues and assess technical requirements
•Act as a technical advisor for our aftersales support network
•Lead or contribute to special projects related to vehicle improvement, modifications or customisations

Key requirements:

•Automotive qualification or equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
•A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership or technical role within the transport industry
•Expertise in minibus, bus, coach and Electric Vehicles and associated systems
•Experience running a diagnostic function with either a major dealership or preferably an OEM
•Familiar with the likes of Cummins, ZF, Allison, Brist etc
•Understanding of diagnosing Wabtec Systems
