Panel Technician – Permanent Position
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £45,000

About the Role Autotech Recruit is currently seeking an experienced Panel Technician to join our client’s professional bodyshop team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician who takes pride in their work and wants to join a forward-thinking and supportive environment.
You’ll work with a wide range of modern vehicles, using state-of-the-art equipment, and benefit from long-term career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out structural and cosmetic body repairs on all types of vehicles
• Remove and replace panels using welding and bonding techniques
• Use jig and alignment equipment to ensure vehicle geometry accuracy
• Strip and fit panels and parts as needed
• Complete all work to manufacturer and insurance standards
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Panel Beater / Panel Technician
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair or equivalent (preferred)
• ATA accreditation (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and within a team
