Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester - West Yorkshire - ATR_HT061

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester/Vehicle Technician to join our clients busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards as mandated by law. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with both hand and power tools. The MOT Tester/Vehicle Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and reliability of vehicles on the road.

Responsibilities

• Work on all makes and models of vehicles
• Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Handle brakes, tyres, and wheel alignment
• Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems.
• Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Assist in heavy lifting tasks when required, ensuring safe handling of equipment and parts.
• Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures.

Essential Experience

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
• A valid MOT Tester licence is essential.
• Level 3 vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience
• Liaise with the office manager and provide excellent customer service
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.

Job Type – Full time

Hours - Monday - Friday 8:30-5:30
No weekend work
