As a vehicle technician, Kyle has always had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He has been working in the automotive sector for several years and has been a contractor for Autotech Recruit since 2015. Recently, he became an ambassador for the company, which allows him to share his knowledge and experience with other technicians. Autotech Recruit is pleased to have him on board as an ambassador, and we were fortunate enough to sit down with Kyle to ask him some questions about his journey and experience with Autotech Recruit.
Q: Why did you decide to become an ambassador for Autotech Recruit?
A: I wanted to join the ambassador program because Autotech Recruit has always been good to me. They helped me out when I had a motorcycle accident, and they looked out for my wellbeing. This act of kindness meant more to me than anything I had ever received from an employer. So, it's important to me to try and help return the favour and help the company that has been so good to me for years.
Q: Can you tell us more about your journey with Autotech Recruit?
A: I joined the company around 2015 and have been with them throughout, except for a six-month term when I joined a dealer workshop, which was a very happy place until some changes were made, and the feeling changed. So, I came back to Autotech Recruit and never looked back.
Q: How did you become a contract technician, and what are your future career aspirations?
A: I became a contract tech by chance originally. I retrained as a lorry driver, but I saw the advertisements for Autotech Recruit and thought I would try it before I left the trade. I have been doing this since and see it as my full-time job. It's more suited to my lifestyle, allowing me to do the things I love. In the future, I would like to increase my knowledge further.
Q: What are the benefits of being a contract vehicle technician with Autotech Recruit?
A: The flexibility, the choice of work, and a less stressful workload are some of the benefits. I have a much better work-life balance now, and if I need more or fewer hours, it's no problem. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to work on multiple brands.
Q: What would you say to someone considering becoming a contractor with Autotech Recruit?
A: I would say take the leap and swap. It does sound daunting, but after a week or so of adjusting, it's brilliant. I'm not surprised that there is a shortage of vehicle technicians in the industry. Over the years, it has been underpaid, overworked, and underappreciated. However, 90 percent of the training I've done has been with Autotech Recruit, and the pay is excellent, which is much more than I have had before from any job.
Kyle's journey with Autotech Recruit has been inspiring to say the least. He has found his passion and purpose as a contract vehicle technician and encourages others to do the same. Autotech Recruit is always looking for talented technicians to join our team and become successful contractors like Kyle. Therefore, we invite you to consider becoming a contractor with Autotech Recruit and experience the same benefits of flexibility and freedom that Kyle has. Join us and start your journey today!
