5 Tips to Help You Pass Your MOT Annual Assessment First Time

Home > Blog > 5 Tips to Help You Pass Your MOT Annual Assessment First Time

MOT testers must complete their annual training and pass the assessment by 31 March 2022. If you still haven’t completed your MOT Annual Training and Assessment 2021/2022, we have 5 practical tips that will give you the best chance of passing the test the first time and on time.

TIP ONE: DON’T DELAY

There’s no benefit in leaving the completion of your MOT annual training and assessment until the last minute. In fact, delaying could affect your RAG rating. Bear in mind that in the past, the system has been slow and crashed due to the amount of people logging in towards the end of March. If this happens again, it could affect you passing in time.

TIP TWO: TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL

Make sure you complete the full 3 hours’ worth of MOT training. It is advisable to use a training package to ensure you study the correct topics.

TIP THREE: USE THE CTRL + F SHORTCUT

Practice using the Ctrl + F function on your keyboard for the keyword search on the MOT Testing Guide.

TIP FOUR: USE THE THREE TABS METHOD

In your web browser have 3 tabs open: one for the test, one for the inspection manual, and one for the MOT Testing Guide.

TIP FIVE: STAY CALM AND DO YOUR BEST

Read the questions thoroughly, stay calm, and double-check your answers.

Failing your MOT annual assessment is simply not an option as it means suspension from your role as an MOT tester, which would have a detrimental effect on your career in the automotive industry.

We are confident that if you apply our 5 practical tips, you will breeze through your assessment.

If you have any questions relating to the MOT Annual Training and Assessment 2021/2022, please email us at hello@autotechtraining.co.uk.
