The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a highly organised Stores Manager to join a busy and fast-paced fleet operation. This is a key support role responsible for parts management, stock control, supplier coordination, and workshop support activities.
This position is perfect for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and experience within an automotive or fleet environment.
Key Responsibilities Parts & Stock Management
- Manage and maintain stock levels across multiple workshop locations
- Order, receive, and allocate vehicle parts for fleet and third-party vehicles
- Accurately book parts to jobs and maintain clear audit trails
- Oversee PPE ordering and general depot supplies
Supplier & Contractor Coordination
- Manage relationships with parts suppliers and external contractors
- Monitor supplier performance in line with contractual requirements
- Liaise daily with third-party providers to ensure timely delivery
Administration & Reporting
- Support workshop and engineering leadership with administrative tasks
- Assist with month-end reporting, presentations, and data tracking
- Manage vehicle warranty claims and associated documentation
- Handle telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner
Operational Support
- Support workshop teams with parts availability and logistics
- Provide cross-functional support across the fleet department when needed
- Highlight issues or risks to senior management proactively
What We’re Looking For Experience
- Experience in a fleet, automotive, or transport environment
- Knowledge of LGV/fleet compliance and parts management
- Experience in a fast-paced, operational setting
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proactive and solutions-focused mindset
Technical Skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with fleet/workshop systems (e.g. Freeway or similar) preferred
- Good general IT literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly
Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (minimum)
- Relevant experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
