About the Role
A well-established automotive retailer is looking to recruit a skilled Service Technician to join its busy aftersales team in Salisbury. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
- Complete inspections and vehicle health checks, identifying any additional work required.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to a high standard.
- Work in accordance with dealership and manufacturer processes.
- Liaise with customers where appropriate, providing technical updates and advice.
- Support and mentor less experienced technicians when required.
- Attend training courses to maintain and develop technical knowledge.
- Accurately complete workshop documentation and job records.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician within a professional workshop environment.
- Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent (preferred).
- Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good IT and computer literacy.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet productivity targets.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Previous dealership experience would be beneficial.
