Service Advisor
Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am- 6pm, Saturday 8am- 2pm
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 basic OTE £40,000
We are recruiting an experienced Service Advisor to join a busy and well-established car dealership based in Tewkesbury.
As a Service Advisor, you will play a key role in the aftersales department, acting as the vital link between customers and the workshop. You will be responsible for managing the customer journey from initial booking through to vehicle handover, ensuring a smooth, professional, and positive experience at every touchpoint.
You will be the first point of contact for customers booking in for servicing, repairs, and MOTs, providing clear advice, managing expectations, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong customer relationships, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
This position is ideal for someone with 12–18 months’ experience in an automotive service environment who is looking to develop their career within a reputable dealership.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming customers and managing service bookings in person, by phone, and via email
- Accurately assessing customer requirements and advising on servicing, repairs, and maintenance
- Liaising closely with workshop technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs
- Keeping customers regularly updated on vehicle progress, delays, or additional work required
- Preparing job cards, estimates, and invoices with a high level of accuracy
- Explaining completed work and any future recommendations in a clear and professional manner
- Handling queries or concerns in a calm and customer-focused way
- Delivering an outstanding customer experience and maintaining high CSI standards at all times
About You
- At least 12–18 months’ experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar automotive role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using computer systems and dealership software
- A positive, professional, and team-focused attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy dealership environment
