About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician / Master Technician join our independent prestige and performance vehicle business in Fareham.
This is not a standard technician role. They are not looking for a basic service or fast-fit technician. Instead, they need a highly skilled individual with strong diagnostic expertise, the ability to work independently, and the confidence to take on a leadership role within a busy workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced diagnostics and complex fault finding
- Mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance
- Use of live data, wiring diagrams, and electrical testing
- Road testing and vehicle preparation
- Warranty work and quality control checks
- Supporting and guiding other technicians
- Ensuring efficient workflow and job progression within the workshop
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who fits one of the following backgrounds:
- Senior Diagnostic Technician
- Master Technician
- Workshop Foreman / Working Foreman
- Highly skilled independent specialist technician
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven diagnostic ability beyond basic fault code reading
- Strong understanding of:
- Live data interpretation
- Wiring diagrams
- Electrical diagnostics
- Structured fault-finding processes
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Experience supporting or mentoring other technicians
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
Desirable Experience
- Prestige, performance, or German vehicle experience
- Background in specialist independent workshops
