We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent garage to join their experienced team of seven. This role is ideally suited to an MOT Tester who enjoys carrying out inspections while still maintaining hands-on involvement with diagnostics and mechanical repairs when required.

- Starting salary of £38,000 (highly negotiable depending on experience)
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:15pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- No weekend working

The Role
Your primary responsibility will be carrying out MOT inspections to current standards and regulations. You’ll also support the workshop with diagnostics and mechanical repairs during holiday cover periods and when repairing MOT failure vehicles.
Key duties include:
- Conducting MOT inspections accurately and efficiently
- Identifying and reporting vehicle defects
- Completing diagnostic and fault-finding work when required
- Carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain workshop productivity and customer satisfaction
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- A current MOT Tester qualification
- Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- Previous experience carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance
- A reliable, team-focused approach
- Good attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
