The Opportunity
A growing independent automotive workshop is looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join its friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on technician who values quality workmanship and enjoys working in a close-knit workshop environment.
The business is keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate strong all-round workshop experience, with practical ability and attitude being valued above formal qualifications.
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary from £35,000+ depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent position
- 40-hour working week
- Monday to Friday only
- Supportive and experienced workshop team
- Opportunity to work across a varied range of repairs and maintenance tasks
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
No weekend working required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MOT testing and inspections
- Complete routine servicing and maintenance work
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults
- Replace timing belts and timing chains
- Conduct tyre fitting and repair work
- Perform general mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Complete vehicle health checks and safety inspections
- Ensure all work is carried out efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate job records and workshop documentation
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or MOT Tester
- Current MOT Tester qualification advantageous
- Strong servicing and repair background
- Experience with timing belts and timing chains
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
- Electrical diagnostics and fault-finding experience desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence preferred

With two full-time technicians and one part-time team member already in place, the successful candidate will become an important part of a collaborative and supportive working environment.
