Salary: Basic £30,000 – £34,000 per annum | OTE £30,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience and performance)
About the Role
An established automotive retailer is seeking a qualified MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician to play a key role in driving MOT performance while working in a modern workshop equipped with the latest diagnostic tools and technology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out MOT inspections to the highest standards, supporting the service team, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT inspections and vehicle examinations in line with DVSA standards.
- Work closely with the Service Department, keeping colleagues informed on vehicle progress and completed work.
- Communicate technical findings and repair requirements clearly when required.
- Deliver a professional, efficient, and customer-focused service at all times.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through ongoing learning and training.
- Embrace new processes and ways of working that improve workshop efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
About You
- Qualified to Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
- MOT Tester qualification preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and accurately.
- Passionate about the automotive industry and committed to continuous professional development.
- Customer-focused with a strong understanding of safety and service standards.
- A team player who is willing to support colleagues and contribute to workshop success.
- Methodical and able to follow established processes and procedures.
