Maintenance Controller
Ampthill, Bedfordshire | £30,000 – £40,000 + Performance Related Bonus | Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
The Opportunity
Due to continued business growth and an upcoming retirement within the team, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Controller to join their established fleet services operation based in Ampthill.
The Role
You will act as the key link between drivers, garages, suppliers and corporate customers, ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently, downtime is minimised and repair costs are effectively controlled.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing vehicle repair and maintenance authorisations
- Liaising with drivers, garages, suppliers and corporate customers
- Controlling repair costs and ensuring value for money
- Booking services, maintenance and repairs
- Monitoring repair progress and minimising vehicle downtime
- Arranging alternative vehicles when required
- Providing breakdown support, MOT and recall notifications
- Using 1link where applicable
About You
- Experience within Fleet, Automotive, Vehicle Leasing or Vehicle Maintenance
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Understanding of vehicle operation and repair fundamentals
- Experience of repair authorisation and cost control
- Knowledge of 1link desirable
- City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Technology qualification or equivalent preferred
- Full UK driving licence
