About the Role: We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable workshop in Lydden, near Dover. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services for heavy goods vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain HGVs to the highest standards.
- Conduct routine servicing and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
Experience / Skills Required:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- A good all-round knowledge of working on HGVs, trailers, and light commercial vehicles
- An HGV Class 1 Licence (Not essential)
- 5+ years’ experience in the trade
- Understanding of modern vehicle diagnostics
- An MOT test licence would be an advantage
Hours of Work:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
- Some Saturday mornings: 07:00 – 13:00 (paid at time and a half)
- Participation in the call-out rota approximately one in every 5 weeks
Remuneration:
- Base Salary: £41,400 per annum
- Overtime: Time and a half for Saturday mornings
- On-call allowance: Average £1,000 per month (1 in 4 weeks on call also increasing income)
- Total potential earnings: Circa £53,400 per annum
