GSE Vehicle Technician

The Opportunity
My client, a Group Support Equipment specialist, are looking for a skilled GSE/HGV Vehicle Technician to help maintain the reliability and safety of their fleet and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to join a supportive team and play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on vehicles and plant equipment to the highest standards.
  • Perform inspections, brake and smoke tests, and consult with the Workshop Supervisor before commencing work or ordering parts.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, keeping the Workshop Supervisor informed of progress and requirements.
  • Complete job cards and inspection sheets using a tablet, ensuring accurate time recording.
  • Identify, label, and quarantine defective parts or tools, reporting these appropriately.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures, ISO9001 standards, and environmental policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety by reporting hazards, incidents, and near-misses.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintenance.
  • Experience in workshop operations; familiarity with SAP systems is an advantage.
  • Background in vehicle or plant maintenance, ideally within a logistics environment.
  • Essential: Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence.
  • Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence.
  • Desirable: Forklift certification.

Working Pattern

  • Shift: 4 on / 4 off
  • Hours: 6:00am – 6:00pm
