Facilities Officer
Location: Ireland (Nationwide)
Salary: Up to €50,000 + Annual Bonus (up to 5%)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
We are recruiting for a Facilities Officer to join a growing organisation within the automotive services sector. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant and efficient working environments across multiple locations throughout Ireland. This is a varied, hands-on position combining facilities maintenance, health & safety compliance and site improvement projects. The role involves regular travel to sites across Dublin, Newbridge, Cork, Limerick and Sligo, with further locations planned as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building maintenance and repairs
- Complete minor carpentry, plumbing, decorating and fixing work
- Assemble, install and move furniture, fixtures and fittings
- Support office moves and workspace reconfigurations
- Respond to maintenance issues including lighting, leaks, drainage, waste management and landscaping
- Conduct workplace inspections and health & safety audits
- Identify hazards, record defects and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Monitor fire safety equipment, escape routes and emergency procedures
- Support fire drills and site compliance activities
- Supervise contractors and monitor works carried out on site
- Maintain accurate compliance records, certificates and inspection logs
- Purchase materials and coordinate minor works within budget
- Provide regular updates to the Health & Safety Manager on compliance and maintenance activities
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a facilities, maintenance, handyperson or trade-based role
- Practical experience in minor carpentry, plumbing, decorating and building repairs
- Experience carrying out workplace inspections or risk assessments
- Good understanding of workplace health & safety requirements
- Knowledge of fire safety systems and emergency procedures
- Competent in the safe use of hand and power tools
- Strong organisation and record-keeping skills
- Confident using email, spreadsheets and digital reporting systems
- Current Safe Pass card
- Manual Handling certification
- Full clean driving licence
- Willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays
Desirable Experience
- Experience within an automotive, garage or workshop environment
- Contractor management or permit-to-work experience
- IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Occupational First Aid certification
- Fire Warden training
- Working at Height, IPAF or MEWP certification
- Experience working across multiple sites
- Knowledge of workshop equipment, vehicle lifts and garage safety requirements
