About the Role
An established automotive retailer is looking to recruit an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join its busy aftersales team in Southampton. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic capabilities who is seeking a rewarding role within a professional dealership environment offering excellent earning potential and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Perform detailed vehicle health checks and provide accurate diagnostic reports.
- Complete MOT-related repairs and general workshop repairs.
- Service, diagnose and repair air conditioning systems.
- Undertake welding repairs where required.
- Source and order parts necessary to complete repairs efficiently.
- Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
- Communicate technical findings and vehicle updates when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
- Work efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets.
Requirements
- Relevant Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent automotive qualification.
- Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a dealership or professional workshop environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
- Customer-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
