About the Role
A leading automotive retailer is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join its established workshop team in Poole. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Perform comprehensive vehicle health checks and produce accurate diagnostic reports.
- Complete general repairs and MOT-related work to a high standard.
- Service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems.
- Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.
- Order and manage parts required to complete repairs efficiently.
- Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
- Communicate diagnostic findings and repair updates when necessary.
- Adhere to workshop processes, health and safety procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and productive working environment.
Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent automotive qualification.
- Previous experience working as a Diagnostic Technician within a dealership or professional workshop environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet productivity targets and deadlines.
- Commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
