Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (30-minute lunch)
About the Role
A leading automotive retailer is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join its established workshop team in Newbury. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle faults.
- Perform detailed vehicle health checks and provide accurate diagnostic reports.
- Conduct air conditioning servicing and repairs.
- Complete MOT-related repairs and general workshop repairs.
- Investigate and rectify vehicle electrical system faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out welding repairs when required.
- Source and order parts required to complete repairs efficiently.
- Liaise with customers when appropriate, providing updates on vehicle repairs and technical findings.
- Maintain accurate workshop documentation and job records.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Relevant automotive qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a dealership or professional workshop environment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding expertise, particularly with electrical systems.
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
