Calibration Technician
Location: Midlands (Ideal base: Birmingham/Stafford)
Salary: £35,000 (OTE £42,000 with Commission & Bonus)
We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established calibration services provider for a field-based On-Site Calibration Technician to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently in a hands-on role, travelling to customer sites in a fully equipped mobile laboratory.
The Role:
Calibration ensures that instruments, gauges, meters, and testing equipment deliver accurate and reliable results.
As a Calibration Technician, you will:
- Carry out calibration, inspection, testing, and maintenance of equipment on customer sites
- Work to established procedures to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance
- Manage your own workload, with jobs scheduled and issued digitally each week
- Travel across the Midlands (typically no further south than Oxford and no further north than York)
- Provide a professional, customer-facing service at all times
You’ll be provided with a mobile lab vehicle, fully equipped with everything you need to carry out your work effectively.
Requirements:
- Basic computer literacy
- No prior calibration experience required – full training provided
- Background in a garage workshop or bodyshop is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Able to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel, with occasional overnight stays
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
What’s on Offer:
- 40-hour working week
- £35,000 OTE, with realistic earnings up to £42,000 including commission and bonus
