Autotech Recruit are partnering with a leading global automotive solutions provider to recruit a Technical Specialist to join their established technical support team in Coventry. This is an ideal opportunity for a Master Technician, Senior Technician or highly experienced Diagnostic Technician looking to take their career in a different direction. If you enjoy complex diagnostics, fault-finding and supporting others with technical challenges, this role offers the chance to utilise your expertise beyond the workshop environment.
As a Technical Specialist, you’ll provide expert support on complex vehicle diagnostic and repair cases across a retailer network. Working as part of a highly skilled team, you’ll investigate technical issues, identify root causes, analyse trends and help drive improvements in repair quality and efficiency.
This is a varied role that combines technical expertise, problem-solving, data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced diagnostic and repair support to retailer networks
- Manage technical cases through to successful resolution
- Investigate complex electrical and mechanical faults
- Analyse technical data and identify recurring trends
- Support and coach retailer technicians
- Recommend process improvements to improve repair quality
- Produce technical reports and case documentation
- Build strong relationships with retailers and internal teams
We are keen to hear from candidates with strong automotive diagnostic experience, particularly those from a franchised dealer environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Master Technician qualification, Senior Technician status, or equivalent experience
- Strong automotive diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Experience working within a dealership environment
- Excellent understanding of modern vehicle systems
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple technical cases simultaneously
Desirable
- High Voltage (HV) qualification or EV experience
- Experience coaching or mentoring technicians
- Manufacturer-accredited training
