Ongoing Temporary Contracts: MOT Tester
Rate: £18–£21 per hour
Autotech Recruit are specialists in automotive contract staffing, with over 350 contractors working all over the UK. We are seeking qualified MOT Testers for contracting roles based in your area!
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Class 4 (car & light goods vehicle) MOT tests in line with DVSA standards and record clear, accurate inspection results.
- Manage associated maintenance tasks and simple diagnostic follow-ups.
- Uphold stringent safety procedures and maintain a clean, efficient working area.
What You’ll Need
- Valid MOT Tester licence (minimum 6 months experience and at least 100 tests carried out).
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time‑served experience over 10 years.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in MOT testing, mechanics, or vehicle servicing roles.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel with your own tools (top box required)
Hours & Contract
- We would love it if you could work 5 days a week, but this isn’t for everyone, so we offer flexible contract covering anywhere from one day to several weeks
- Typical shift time 08:30–17:00
- Plenty of weekend work only is available
- Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per day.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay rate: £18 – £21 per hour (within local contract rates). Equivalent to nearly £50,000 a year based on 8 hours a day for 5 days a week.
