As part of their aim to modernise the MOT scheme, in April 2016 the DVSA announced plans to change the way MOT training is carried out. The original MOT tester refresher course was replaced with the Continuing Professional Development, currently referred to as ‘annual training and assessment’. Under this new legislation, each year, between April and March, every MOT tester must complete the assessment which incorporates 3 hours of MOT training and an annual exam. It is essential that all MOT testers comply by the 31st March deadline as failure to do so could result in suspension of an MOT tester’s license.

As the UK’s only automotive recruitment agency dedicated to supplying temporary and permanent MOT testers and technicians, we launched our specialist Autotech Training division in a direct bid to assist our nationwide pool of vehicle technicians and MOT testers achieve this qualification.

With 97% of our customers rating us highly, it is vital that we continue to deliver a high level of service. Therefore ensuring that we only work with contractors who are fully compliant is essential. We need to ensure that our contractors are qualified to the highest of standards so that they can quickly fill temporary and permanent positions, hit the ground running, and be up to date with current technology. With just a few contractors left to complete the course, we will achieve 100% success by the 31st March deadline.
