MOT tester annual assessmentAs part of their aim to modernise the MOT scheme, in April 2016 the DVSA announced plans to change the way MOT training is carried out. The original MOT tester refresher course was replaced with the Continuing Professional Development, currently referred to as ‘annual training and assessment’. Under this new legislation, each year, between April and March, every MOT tester must complete the assessment which incorporates 3 hours of MOT training and an annual exam. It is essential that all MOT testers comply by the 31st March deadline as failure to do so could result in suspension of an MOT tester’s license.
