Autotech Training LogoIn a bid to meet modern legislation and continue to upskill MOT testers and technicians across the UK, Autotech Recruit, under its dedicated Autotech Training division, has launched a Level 3 MOT Test Centre Management course.

Autotech Recruit developed the programme in collaboration with three leading automotive industry figures, John Parham, David Easton and Ian Gillgrass. Suitable for everyone, the course provides learners with the key knowledge and skills to effectively manage all elements of an MOT Test Centre, while achieving a qualification recognised by the DVSA.

The programme, delivered through ABC Awards, has been specifically created to capture all elements of current legislation facing Vehicle Testing Stations today. It is also in line with the new qualification regulations launched by the DVSA in 2016, superseding the original AEDM qualification. David Easton, who was the DVSA’s MOT Training Project Executive comments:

I’m really pleased to be working with Autotech Recruit on this new venture. They play a vital role in providing competent, skilled MOT testers to garages and actively support the continued development and improvement of the MOT Scheme through their involvement with DVSA and other trade associations. Offering the level 3 MOT Test Centre Management Qualification is just another example of their commitment to  driving up skills and professionalism in the industry by offering cost effective, reliable MOT products and services.”

While it is now compulsory for all MOT Testers to complete the Level 2 Award in MOT Testing, the Level 3 Award is recommended. However, in the face of the rapidly changing automotive industry, including more stringent legislation, this award not only provides a valuable academic qualification but full comprehension of current DVSA legislative and compliance requirements.

“There has been a definite shift in awareness of legislation and the need for compliance amongst MOT test centres and garages,” Gavin White, MD of Autotech Recruit, explains. “Through our wide customer network we hope to roll out this qualification, which will equip automotive professionals with the necessary skills required to effectively run Vehicle Testing Stations.”

Significantly, Autotech Recruit is offering a flexible delivery programme, from a two-day course (with hotel accommodation included) at the company’s Newport Pagnell Head Office, to the option of delivering the training on-site for larger companies.
