Autotech Recruit works with Ford providing Fly In TechniciansAutotech Recruit has forged a partnership with Ford Motor Company in the UK. The move will see us placing temporary vehicle technicians into Ford’s Authorised Repairer network across the UK, in a bid to help the leading car manufacturer improve service capacity.

The partnership follows on from the launch of Autotech Recruit’s Manufacturer Led Recruitment programme earlier this year. Designed to significantly cut the time it takes to get temporary technicians on board, the programme is specifically for leading car manufacturers and can be customised to suit exact requirements.

Testament to this, Ford has named their programme ‘Fly-In’ Tech.

Under the ‘Fly-In’ Tech programme, Autotech Recruit have developed an exclusive booking process for Ford, enabling service managers to submit role requirements quickly, via a dedicated online booking portal. All information and requests entered into the portal will be managed by a team of recruitment consultants at Autotech Recruit who will oversee the entire recruitment process, including screening all potential candidates.

“Our customised programme, and booking portal, provides Ford Dealer Service Managers with an easy to use solution to cover labour shortfalls,” comments Gavin White, Managing Director of Autotech Recruit. “For the first time, Ford will be using temporary technicians which will enable them to improve capacity, quickly.”

To ensure its temporary technicians are ready to fly in and hit the ground running, Autotech Recruit have put a pool of technicians through a Ford training course at the dedicated Henry Ford Academy. “All of our technicians are highly skilled, and we vet them as part of our robust recruitment process,” comments Gavin. “However, under each Manufacturer Led Programme, it is essential that the technicians we place with a manufacturer have been trained to their own specific standards, so they have a clear understanding of their systems and are able to carry out the appropriate work.”

Once trained, Ford will also equip the technicians with Ford branded workwear.

Currently, Autotech Recruit have 8 Ford trained technicians, working within Ford dealerships across the UK, however by the end of the year this figure is expected to have trebled with 24 out in the field. “Ford are currently embarking upon a recruitment drive to increase the number of vehicle technicians they have working for them. Our programme enables them to carry on with this campaign, while providing them with the resources to keep their workshops running,” Gavin explains.

The partnership with Ford is testament to Autotech Recruit’s growing reputation amongst the automotive industry as the go-to recruitment agency for highly skilled MOT testers and technicians. Dedicated solely to the automotive aftermarket, Autotech Recruit has a strong, UK wide pool of temporary and permanent technicians.

Carlos Ovilo, Ford Customer Service Division Director, adds: “This programme is another valuable initiative for Ford to ensure our Dealerships can access technicians on a temporary basis, whilst still recruiting for permanent positions, ensuring that our customers have the best possible aftersales experience in terms of convenience of appointment booking, and time taken to complete work. We are very happy to be working with Autotech Recruit and see this as the beginning of a sustainable partnership.”

“We are delighted to be working with Ford,” Gavin concludes. “As an agency which works solely for the automotive industry, our over-riding objective is to keep workshops running and to work with a highly regarded vehicle manufacturer like Ford, is a significant step forward for us.”

To date, Autotech Recruit, under the Manufacturer Led Programme, has formed partnerships with Volvo, VW Commercial Vehicles and Renault UK.
