Autotech Recruit's Growing Engagement in Educational Projects

Autotech Recruit Involved in EducationOver the past few months we have been getting increasingly involved in projects related to education and training.

Today as part of the ‘Employability Week’ hosted by Milton Keynes College, Autotech Recruit’s representatives are holding two information sessions with the students who are currently enrolled in the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship Programme. The aim of these sessions is to provide the students with information on our business and the type of opportunities that we offer to qualified vehicle technicians. The ‘Employability Week’ workshops are aimed at helping students become more employable once they leave the college and inspiring them to think about their career paths as well as being able to pick up new qualifications.

Since September 2014 we have also been proudly supporting the Young Enterprise Company Programme. As part of the project Gavin White, Autotech Recruit’s Managing Director, has been volunteering as a business mentor to help prepare students from Ousedale School in Buckinghamshire for their future working lives. As they run a real mini company over one academic year, the students take the reins in weekly meetings, write business plans, create a product or service, resource, market and sell the product, manage accounts and a bank account. Every week Gavin shares his business knowledge and skills helping the future entrepreneurs encounter such key competencies as financial literacy, organisation, problem solving, teamwork, to name just a few.
